Mum was admitted to Brun Lea after a dementia diagnosis in 2025. Whilst mum has been a resident we have seen the care deteriorate, so much so we had to move her. The CQC are currently investigating the home due to so many reports of incidents from relatives, including unsafe medication practices and keeping mum safe to name a couple. Mum was put in a chair in the lounge with little stimulation apart from a blaring TV (dementia patients already have an overstimulated brain - this did not help) and 3 or 4 days the offer of 40 mins of games. Personal daily care sadly lacking with a senior deciding when or not to shower mum. Dirty fingernails, wearing other peoples clothes repeatedly, reluctance to gain medical help when clearly needed. Always apologetic but nothing changed, so we changed mums surroundings. The new home equals a new mum. Still with dementia but a smiling clean mum who interacts in calm surroundings and is genuinely cared for now. We certainly don't recommend Brun Lea.
